FSB reports thwarting acts of terrorism in Bryansk ahead of presidential election

MOSCOW. March 15 (Interfax) - The Russian Federal Security Service (FSB) has reported detaining a Krasnodar Territory resident on suspicion of plotting acts of terrorism in Bryansk on orders from a Ukrainian radical group.

"The Russian Federal Security Service, together with the Russian Interior Ministry, detained a Russian citizen born in 2002 and residing in the Krasnodar Territory, who was plotting acts of terrorism in Bryansk on instructions from the Ukrainian organization Freedom of Russia Legion designated as a terrorist one and banned in Russia to destabilize the sociopolitical situation in the run-up to the presidential election in Russia," it said.

The recruited Russian man retrieved explosive devices from a cache in the Kaluga region, "which he planted at the entrances to administrative buildings of energy companies and social infrastructure facilities," it said.
