MOSCOW. March 18 (Interfax) - Russian President Vladimir Putin has said he does not rule out a possibility of creating a sanitary zone which will be hard for Ukrainian Armed Forces and foreign hardware to overcome.
"I do not rule out that keeping in mind tragic events that occur today, we will be forced at some point, when we consider it feasible, to create a certain sanitary zone in the territories now in control of the Kiev regime," Putin said at a press conference on Monday, when asked if it is necessary to take control of the Kharkov region to ensure security of the Belgorod region, which was earlier voiced by the Belgorod region governor.
"I am not ready to speak about what, how and when we should take control of," Putin said.
The need to "create a security zone, which will be rather hard to overcome by attack means the enemy uses, primarily foreign-made," may emerge, he said.
