Drone neutralized near Russia's Novokuibyshevsk oil refinery

SAMARA. March 25 (Interfax) - A fixed-wing drone has been found in a forest near the Novokuibyshevsk oil refinery in Russia's Samara region, the regional authorities' press service told Interfax on Monday.

"An unmanned aerial vehicle was intercepted and forced to land in Novokuibyshevsk. It was found when a forest near the Novokuibyshevsk oil refinery was examined after the March 23 attack," a press service employee said.

"The drone warhead was neutralized, after which it was taken to a range and destroyed," they said.

"There is no risk to the life or health of Novokuibyshevsk residents. The current situation in the region is under control," the press service said.

Previously, Samara region Governor Dmitry Azarov said there were attempts to attack the Novokuibyshevsk oil refinery on March 16 and 23, but both of them were thwarted.
