MOSCOW. April 2 (Interfax) - The number of crimes committed at public places and transport facilities in Russia declined in 2023, but all law enforcement agencies must enhance readiness to fight them, Russian President Vladimir Putin said.
"The statistics show, and this is actually true, that the number of crimes at public places and at transport facilities declined in general last year. But, as we see, preparedness for emergency situations needs to increased constantly," Putin said at an Interior Ministry expanded board meeting on Tuesday.
"This concerns all services of the federation and all services of our law enforcement agencies," he said.
"And of course, [this concerns] those of our regions that are located in close proximity to the combat line of contact, the special military operation zone," he said.
