Command post exercise starts in Belarus near border with Poland - Belarusian Defense Ministry

MINSK. April 2 (Interfax) - A command post exercise has started in Belarus's Gomel and Grodno regions bordering Poland, the Belarusian Defense Ministry said.

"The drills are expected to focus on measures to guard and defend a territorial defense facility and on ensuring martial law measures involving citizen militia volunteers," the ministry said.

Territorial defense forces from the Rogachev and Korma districts will participate in the exercise in the Gomel region, while territorial defense units from the Voronovo district will join the exercise in the Grodno region.

The drills seek to check the readiness of officials in territorial forces' military units to tackle combat training tasks, bolster reserve officers' command skills and train personnel in fulfilling their duties while carrying out territorial defense missions, the ministry said.
