Russian Prosecutor General's Office makes inquiries with U.S., some other countries regarding foreign entities' involvement in terror attacks

MOSCOW. April 3 (Interfax) - The Russian Prosecutor General's Office has processed materials from parliament members and activists regarding the possible involvement of foreign entities in terror attacks in Russia and attached them to the inquiries made with the United States, Germany, France and Cyprus.

"The Russian Prosecutor General's Office has processed an application regarding the possible involvement of foreign entities in the planning and funding of terror attacks in Russia," the office said on Wednesday.

"The submitted materials were studied and attached to the inquiries made with the relevant authorities of the United States, Germany, France and Cyprus," it said.

"Hopefully, our colleagues in those countries will consider them in good faith and fulfill the obligations, deriving from the 1999 International Convention for the Suppression of the Financing of Terrorism and the 1997 International Convention for the Suppression of Terrorist Bombings, to investigate the provided information, assist in gathering evidence for an investigation, and ensure the inevitability of punishment for crimes without justifying those with political or similar reasons," the office said.
