Four Syrian soldiers wounded in militant attack in Idlib province - Russian military

MOSCOW. April 3 (Interfax) - The Russian military has reported injuries sustained by four Syrian soldiers in a militant attack in Idlib province in the past 24 hours.

"An attack drone launched by the terrorists from the Majdaliya area on the positions of Syrian government forces near Jawbas in Idlib province injured four Syrian servicemen," deputy head of the Russian Center for Reconciliation of Opposing Sides in Syria Maj. Gen. Yury Popov said on Tuesday.

He also reported three attacks on positions of Syrian government forces by the Jabhat al-Nusra and Turkistan Islamic Party terrorist groups, both banned in Russia, in Aleppo and Idlib provinces within the Idlib de-escalation area.

Aircraft of the U.S.-led coalition continue to trespass on Syrian airspace, Popov said.

"Three violations of the deconfliction protocols dated December 9, 2019, by flights of the coalition's unmanned aerial vehicles uncoordinated with the Russian side were observed over the day," he said.

"Eight violations by a pair of F-15 fighter jets, a pair of F-16 fighter jets, a pair of Typhoon fighter jets and a pair of A-10 Thunderbolt attack planes were recorded in the al-Tanf area in the past 24 hours," Popov said.
