Russia's Bal, Bastion missile systems practicing missile strikes on mock enemy ships in Baltic Sea

MOSCOW. April 3 (Interfax) - Bal and Bastion coastal missile systems are practicing strikes on mock enemy ships in the Kaliningrad region, the Russian Baltic Fleet said in a statement on Wednesday.

"Bal and Bastion anti-ship coastal missile systems of the Baltic Fleet are involved in a routine tactical exercise into delivering a missile strike on mock enemy ships at firing ranges in the Kaliningrad region," the statement said.

The exercise involves practicing deployment of hardware on various positions, achieving tasks associated with ingress, deployment, disposition and location change after using weapons, the statement said.

"The exercise involves more than 100 troops and more than 15 pieces of military and special hardware, as well as sea and air reconnaissance mobile coastal systems," it said.
