KRASNODAR. April 4 (Interfax) - The Krasnodar territorial branch of the Russian Federal Security Service (FSB) has thwarted an Israeli citizen's attempt to join Ukrainian forces, the branch press service said on Thursday.
"Israeli citizen Yuval Lanzman, born in 1960, a former member of the Israel Defense Forces planning to join Ukrainian forces and fight against the Russian Federation, has been detained," the press service said.
Lanzman sent personal data to various terrorist organizations, banned in Russia, seeking to join their ranks and fight against Russia, it said. The FSB uncovered and thwarted his plans before they could be fulfilled.
The Israeli citizen was formally warned about "the inadmissibility of actions leading to a crime defined as participation in the activity of a terrorist organization," the press service said.
"His supervised departure was carried out for further travel to Israel, and a ban on entering Russia again was imposed," it said.
