Syrian soldier wounded in militant attack in Aleppo province - reconciliation center

MOSCOW. April 5 (Interfax) - A Syrian soldier has been wounded in a militant attack in Aleppo province, deputy head of the Russian Center for Reconciliation of Opposing Sides in Syria Maj. Gen. Yury Popov said at a briefing on Thursday night.

"A fixed-wing attack drone launched by terrorists on the positions of Syrian government forces in the Talihiyah area in Aleppo province injured a Syrian serviceman," Popov said.

The Jabhat al-Nusra and Turkistan Islamic Party terrorist groups, banned in Russia, launched two attacks on positions of Syrian government forces in Aleppo and Latakia provinces within the Idlib de-escalation area, he said.

Aircraft of the U.S.-led coalition continue to trespass on Syrian airspace, Popov said.

"Five violations of the deconfliction protocols dated December 9, 2019, by flights of the coalition's unmanned aerial vehicles uncoordinated with Russia were observed in the past 24 hours," he said.

"Twelve violations by a pair of F-15 fighter jets, a pair of F-16 fighter jets, two pairs of Typhoon fighter jets and two pairs of A-10 Thunderbolt attack planes were recorded in the al-Tanf area over the day," Popov said.
