MOSCOW. April 5 (Interfax) - The Leningrad Naval Base received a new Izhorets harbor tug on Friday, the Russian Defense Ministry said.
"The harbor tug joined the fleet of supply vessels of the Leningrad Naval Base of the Baltic Fleet by order of Russian Navy Commander-in-Chief Adm. Alexander Moiseyev," the report said.
The ceremony took place in Kronstadt.
According to the ministry, the project 90600 Izhorets harbor tug was floated out on October 5, 2023.
"It underwent all necessary trials in the Gulf of Finland, where it will be working. The tug is registered at the Lomonosov port and will support ships of the Leningrad Naval Base of the Baltic Fleet," the report said.
Vessels of this project are intended for tug and positioning operations at the port, on roadsteads and in coastal districts, for refloating ships and vessels, and also for firefighting, elimination of oil spills, cargo reshipment, pilotage, etc. They have a broad range of technical capabilities and engine capacity and are economical and convenient to work with.
