Russian-Turkish top-level contacts to take place in foreseeable future - Kremlin

MOSCOW. April 8 (Interfax) - While no dates for Russian-Turkish top-level contacts have been set yet, there is an understanding that they will take place in the foreseeable future, Russian presidential press secretary Dmitry Peskov said.

"Top-level contacts are being prepared in general [...] No dates for Russian-Turkish top-level contacts have been determined yet, but there is an understanding that they will take place in the foreseeable future," Peskov told journalists on Monday.

Considering that, according to media reports, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan is planning to visit the United States in May, journalists asked Peskov whether Russia is planning to have contacts with Turkish counterparts before this, including in the context of problems around bank transfers from Russia.

"Working-level contacts concerning all financial affairs are ongoing with the purpose of finding a way out of this situation. Indeed, certain problems do exist, and the reason behind those problems is obvious. This causes serious damage to the interests of both our and Turkish economic operators," Peskov said.
