Russian military reports 13 violations by U.S.-led coalition in Syria in past 24 hours

MOSCOW. April 9 (Interfax) - Aircraft of the U.S.-led coalition have continued to create dangerous situations in the Syrian airspace, deputy head of the Russian Center for Reconciliation of Opposing Sides in Syria Maj. Gen. Yury Popov said.

"Two violations of the deconfliction protocols dated December 9, 2019, by flights of the coalition's unmanned aerial vehicles uncoordinated with the Russian side were observed in the past day," Popov said at a press briefing on Monday.

Three pairs of F-15 fighter jets, two pairs of A-10 Thunderbolt attack planes and an MC-12W reconnaissance and surveillance aircraft violated the Syrian airspace 11 times in the el-Tanf area in the past 24 hours, he said.

One attack on positions of Syrian government forces by the Jabhat al-Nusra terrorist group (banned in Russia) was recorded in the Aleppo province within the Idlib de-escalation area, Popov said.
