Zaporozhye NPP says Ukraine strikes its unique simulator center

ROSTOV-ON-DON. April 9 (Interfax) - The Ukrainian Armed Forces have struck a unique simulator center at the Zaporozhye Nuclear Power Plant (ZNPP), the plant said on its Telegram channel.

"A drone struck the roof of the ZNPP's training center, which houses the world's only full-size reactor room simulator," it said.

The attack did not cause any casualties, it said.

This was the fifth attack on the ZNPP in April.

As reported, a drone was downed over the plant on Monday, with its debris falling on the roof of Unit 6. The explosive charge carried by the drone did not detonate and was later defused by specialists.

Earlier on Tuesday, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said at a press conference in Beijing that Russia was interested in maintaining cooperation with the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) and the United Nations Secretariat in the context of the situation surrounding the ZNPP.

Moscow "will bring the issue to a special meeting of the IAEA Board of Governors and a special meeting of the UN Security Council and will insist on the need for frank, unequivocal assessments of actions of the Kiev regime," he said.
