First Angara-A5 launch from Vostochny moved to April 10 - Roscosmos head

MOSCOW. April 9 (Interfax) - The first launch of the Angara-A5 heavy-lift rocket planned for Tuesday has been delayed until April 10, Roscosmos head Yury Borisov said in a statement.

"The launch has been tentatively scheduled for the alternate date, tomorrow," Roscosmos quoted Borisov as saying.

The first Angara-A5 launch from Vostochny was planned for Tuesday noon. The rocket was supposed to carry an Orion upper stage and a pilot payload to orbit.

However, the launch was aborted two minutes before liftoff. "The launch has been cancelled. Work supervisors prepare for 24-hour standstill," the Roscosmos stream announcer said.

The launch will begin development trials of the Amur space center at Vostochny.
