NEW YORK. April 9 (Interfax) - Russia has asked the UN Security Council to meet on April 12 to discuss the West's weapon deliveries to Ukraine, Russian Deputy Ambassador to the UN Dmitry Polyansky said on Tuesday.
"We have requested [...] a separate meeting on Western arms supplies to the Kiev regime [to be held] at 10 a.m. New York time on April 12. We shall try to choose an interesting rapporteur for it," Polyansky said on Telegram.
The end of this week at the UN SC will be dedicated to Kiev, he said. Thus, the UN SC is meeting on April 11, same time, at the request of Western countries to discuss the humanitarian situation in Ukraine, he said.
On Monday, Russia's Ambassador to the UN Vasily Nebenzya said Russia would propose the UN SC discuss the issue of drone attacks on the Zaporozhye Nuclear Power Plant at one of its upcoming meetings.
