MOSCOW. April 10 (Interfax) - The Moscow City Court on Wednesday upheld the Tagansky District Court ruling to impose a fine of over 4.6 billion rubles on Google for repeated failure to remove information prohibited in Russia.
"The ruling by Moscow's Tagansky District Court imposing an administrative fine of 4,611,738,636 rubles on Google LLC is upheld, and the appeal is dismissed," the court's press service told Interfax.
Google was found guilty of repeatedly failing to remove prohibited content. According to an administrative offense motion filed by the Federal Service for Supervision of Communications, Information Technology and Mass Media (Roskomnadzor), Google failed to remove socially significant false information about the Russian special military operation in Ukraine and LGBT videos from YouTube, in addition to extremist materials.
