Russian FSB reports detaining suspected terrorist in Zaporozhye region

ROSTOV-ON-DON. April 10 (Interfax) - The Russian Federal Security Service (FSB) has reported detaining an agent of the Security Service of Ukraine who was plotting a terror attack on Russian troops in the Zaporozhye region, the press service for the FSB's regional branch said on Wednesday.

"Officers of the FSB branch in the Zaporozhye region have detained a local woman abetting preparations for a terror attack on Russian troops. Employees of the Security Service of Ukraine coordinated the activity of the terrorists' abettor and provided her with explosives," it said.

The woman retrieved the explosives from a dead drop prepared by the Security Service of Ukraine and planned to hand them over to members of a sabotage and reconnaissance group. She also purchased ingredients for Molotov cocktails and placed them in another dead drop for future supply to the perpetrators, the FSB said.

The woman said on a video released by the FSB branch's press service that they planned to set fire to an FSB building using the incendiary liquid.

The woman's home was searched, and three TNT blocks of 400 grams each and ingredients for incendiary liquid were seized. A criminal case was opened on counts of aiding and abetting terrorism.
