No invitations from France for Russia to attend ceremony marking 80th anniversary of Allied landings in Normandy - Peskov

MOSCOW. April 16 (Interfax) - Russia has not received official invitations from France to the ceremony marking the 80th anniversary of the Allied landings in Normandy, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said.

Europe 1 radio said that France was planning to invite Russia to the ceremony due on June 6.

"No, we have not received any invitations yet. We do not know what the report is based on, [or] whether this information is official or it is a rumor or a hoax. We have received nothing official to this end," Peskov told reporters in response to a question as to whether the Russian president has been invited to the event.
