Ukrainian saboteurs intensify operations in Russia - Russian Security Council secretary

ARKHANGELSK. April 16 (Interfax) - Ukraine has intensified sabotage operations in Russia, including by shelling border regions and perpetrating terror attacks in public places, Russian Security Council Secretary Nikolai Patrushev said.

"At this meeting, we will discuss additional measures to enhance civil defense and to ensure the security of citizens in the Northwestern Federal District," Patrushev said at a meeting on national security in the Northwestern Federal District.

"The issue is becoming particularly relevant, as terrorist and sabotage operations are intensifying on our territory," he said.

Ukraine "sabotages civil facilities and shells Russian border regions, [and] thus uses weapons against the civilian population, commits terror attacks in public areas, and organizes attacks on officials, public figures and journalists," Patrushev said.
