VORONEZH. April 17 (Interfax) - Governor of the Belgorod region Vyacheslav Gladkov has reported the arrival of additional groups of children in a number of Russian regions.
"Five hundred of our children arrived in Crimea, Ryazan, Kaluga and North Ossetia-Alania yesterday. More than 13,000 children are staying in almost 40 regions," Gladkov said on VK on Wednesday.
Belgorod and the Belgorod region have been under intensive attack from Ukraine since March 12. Residents of shelled territories are evacuated to shelters, while children are sent to other parts of Russia for safety reasons. It was initially planned to evacuate about 9,500 children outside of the Belgorod region.
