Russian prosecutor general, Venezuelan Supreme Tribunal of Justice president discuss cooperation on law enforcement

CARACAS. April 18 (Interfax) - Russian Prosecutor General Igor Krasnov, who has arrived in Caracas, has met with Caryslia Beatriz Rodriguez, president of the Supreme Tribunal of Justice of Venezuela.

Trust-based relations between Russia and Venezuela are creating a basis for interaction and cooperation, including on law enforcement, he said at the meeting. Therefore, Russia is interested in exchanging experience in this sphere.

Russia and Venezuela "are facing new challenges and threats, which are coming from the countries of the collective West," he said. "The political elites of the United States are using policies of hegemony to introduce illegal sanctions and the selective use of international law," Krasnov said.

Russia, for its part, has confirmed its readiness "to work with even more energy, to provide support," he said.

Krasnov previously visited Cuba.
