G7 urges China to influence Russia in Ukraine situation

ROME. April 19 (Interfax) - The G7 foreign ministers have urged Beijing to influence Russia in the Ukraine situation in a communique at the end of their meeting in Capri.

"China should ensure that this support stops," the communique said.

"We express our strong concern about transfers to Russia from businesses in the People's Republic of China of dual-use materials and weapons components that Russia is using to advance its military production," it said.

Additionally, the G7 condemned the expanding military cooperation between Russia and North Korea and called for the soonest end of such activity.
