MOSCOW. April 19 (Interfax) - The Special Rapid Response Unit of the Russian National Guard's Moscow branch has practiced detecting and neutralizing sabotage and reconnaissance groups in the Moscow region, the branch said in a statement on Friday.
"Officers of the Moscow Special Rapid Response Unit of the Russian National Guard's city branch trained at a range in the Moscow region. They spent a week improving professional skills in the simulated realistic environment," the statement said.
The officers practiced detecting and neutralizing sabotage and reconnaissance groups on rough terrain and in the woods and mastered covering group tactics and deterrence of a mock enemy's attack, it said.
"The officers practiced intelligence and actions in a surprise encounter with the enemy. There was a nighttime live-fire drill with various kinds of weapons and limited visibility," it said.
