Ukraine stops cooperating with Belarusian rescuers - Belarusian Emergency Situations Ministry

MINSK. April 22 (Interfax) - Ukraine has stopped cooperating with Belarusian rescuers, Belarusian Emergency Situations Minister Vadim Sinyavsky said.

"Ukraine has broken off bilateral relations with us in the area of the Emergency Situations Ministry. We understand why this has happened," Sinyavsky said on the CTV channel.

He said he was sure that cooperation between Belarusian and Ukrainian emergency services would be restored eventually.

Although Ukraine has stopped cooperating with the Belarusian Emergency Situations Ministry, Belarusian rescuers take care of forests at the border, Sinyavsky said.

"In order to keep our territory safe, we take a number of measures on the ground and by space surveillance to prevent fires from spreading into our land from Ukraine. Our work has been successful," he said.
