MOSCOW. April 22 (Interfax) - The defense of U.S. citizen Andy Stone, spokesman of the Meta Corporation (listed as an extremist organization and banned in Russia) sentenced in Russia in absentia to six years in a penitentiary for justifying terrorism, will appeal the sentence, Stone's lawyer Valentina Filippenkova told Interfax.
"Of course, I will appeal [the sentence]. I asked for an acquittal," Filippenkova said.
