MOSCOW. May 2 (Interfax) - The Kremlin has denied U.S. President Joe Biden's allegations of xenophobia and the rejection of labor migrants in Russia.
"We believe this statement is the complete opposite of reality," Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov told reporters in response to a request for comment on Biden's statement, which said that the rejection of labor migrants has a negative effective on the economies of Russia, China and Japan.
"Does Russia make its companies reject contacts with anyone? Does Russia impose restrictions, which can be completely lawless sometimes, on companies by the exclusive criterion of nationality? Does Russia exert shameless, illegal pressure on third countries to persuade them not to communicate with companies from a particular country?" Peskov said.
"Does Russia chase people of a particular nationality, a particular citizenship all over the world? No, Russia is not doing this, this is being done by an entirely different country," he said.
