MOSCOW. May 3 (Interfax) - Two Tupolev Tu-95MS strategic bombers of the Russian Aerospace Forces' Long-Range Aviation have performed a scheduled flight over neutral waters of the Bering Sea, along the western coast of Alaska, the Russian Defense Ministry said on Friday.

"The flight duration exceeded 11 hours. Sukhoi Su-30SM fighter jets of the Aerospace Forces served as the escort," the ministry said.

"Foreign fighter jets followed the strategic bombers at certain stages of their flight," it said.

"Long-Range Aviation pilots regularly perform flights over neutral waters of the Arctic Ocean, the North Atlantic, the Black Sea, the Baltic Sea and the Pacific. All flights of aircraft of the Russian Aerospace Forces are performed in strict compliance with the international airspace regulations," the ministry said.
