PRAGUE. May 6 (Interfax) - Czech Foreign Minister Jan Lipavsky on Monday summoned Russian Ambassador Alexander Zmeyevsky to the Foreign Ministry after Prague accused Moscow of standing behind cyberattacks on Czech institutions and critical infrastructure, Czech Radio said.
"We called on Russia to refrain from any such acts that run counter to UN standards and its own obligations," the radio station quoted Czech Foreign Ministry spokesperson Daniel Drake as saying.
"The Czech Foreign Ministry said on Friday that the APT28 hacker group linked to Russia has staged cyberattacks on Czech institutions since last year," it said.
Czech Interior Minister Vit Rakusan, in turn, said that the Czech Republic has long been observing a surge in Russia's activity in cyberattacks and cyber espionage, and dozens of hacker attacks on Czech infrastructure have been recorded.
The public is unaware of the majority of such cyberattacks, as they are neutralized at the very beginning, Rakusan said. Cyberattacks linked to the APT28 group have also been reported by Germany.
