MOSCOW. May 6 (Interfax) - French Ambassador to Russia Pierre Levy was summoned to the Russian Foreign Ministry and was told that Paris' policies lead to escalation of the conflict in Ukraine and are destined to fail, the Russian Foreign Ministry said.
"French Ambassador to Russia Pierre Levy was summoned to the Russian Foreign Ministry on May 6 in connection with the increasingly militant statements by the French leadership and the information on France's increasing involvement in the Ukraine conflict," the Russian Foreign Ministry said in a statement.
"The Russian side stated the principled evaluations of Paris' destructive and provocative policies, which lead to further escalation of the conflict. It was emphasized that the French administration's attempts to create by their irresponsible statements on possible sending of Western military contingents to Ukraine to 'strategic uncertainty' for Russia are destined to fail. The goals and objectives of the special military operation will be achieved," the Russian Foreign Ministry said.
