MOSCOW. May 7 (Interfax) - Aircraft of the U.S.-led coalition have continued to create dangerous situations in Syria's airspace, deputy head of the Russian Center for Reconciliation of Opposing Sides in Syria Maj. Gen. Yury Popov said.
"Three breaches of the deconfliction protocols dated December 9, 2019, by flights of the coalition's unmanned aerial vehicles uncoordinated with the Russian side were recorded over the day," Popov said at a press briefing on Monday.
Eleven violations of Syrian airspace by two pairs of coalition F-15 fighter jets, a pair of Typhoon fighter jets, two pairs of A-10 Thunderbolt attack planes and an MQ-9 reconnaissance and attack drone were recorded over the al-Tanf area over the past day, he said.
One attack on Syrian government forces' positions by the Jabhat al-Nusra terrorist group, banned in Russia, was recorded in Idlib province in the Idlib de-escalation area over the day, he said.
"One Syrian soldier was wounded by sniper fire opened by terrorists in the Afes area on Syrian government forces' positions near Tronba in the Idlib province," Popov said.
