Changes to continue at Russian Defense Ministry - party head

MOSCOW. May 13 (Interfax) - Andrei Belousov proposed as the Russian defense minister for the Federation Council's consideration will be useful as the defense minister, and changes will continue at the Russian Defense Ministry, A Just Russia - For Truth party head Sergei Mironov said.

"I think that the nomination of Belousov for defense minister is a highly appropriate decision, considering that not just the military, but also the economy and resources are fighting today," Mironov told reporters on Monday.

"A year ago, Belousov honestly and openly raised the question of a shortage of drones and electronic warfare systems, and it was a very courageous statement," he said.

"We are confident that this specialist has never been involved in any corruption scheme over years of his activity," Mironov said.

"Cleansing has begun at the Defense Ministry and it will continue," he said.
