Over 300 instances of drone use registered annually near Federal Guard Service facilities - candidate director

MOSCOW. May 14 (Interfax) - The Russian Federal Guard Service has registered more than 300 instances of unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) being used near its facilities each year since 2017, candidate for Guard Service Director Dmitry Kochnev said.

"Each year beginning in 2017, the Guard Service has been recording over 300 UAVs being used for various purposes," Kochnev told the Federation Council on Tuesday.

As drone technology becomes more sophisticated, cheaper and more readily available, the number of illegal UAVs in use is only rising, he said.
