BRUSSELS. May 14 (Interfax) - The European Commission (EC) is hoping to complete the approval process for the 14th package of restrictive measures against Russia shortly, EC Executive Vice President Valdis Dombrovskis said on Tuesday.
""Last week, the [European] Commission adopted this proposal for the 14th sanctions package. This focuses on further weakening Russian military industrial complex and adding more measures for tackle circumvention. It is vital to keep up pressure on Russia by strictly enforcing sanctions in cooperation with our international partners. So we hope for a fast agreement by member states on this latest sanctions package," Dombrovskis told a press conference in Brussels after a meeting of the Economic and Financial Affairs Council.
The EU intends to discuss plans to counter the bypassing of sanctions with international partners, he said.
