MOSCOW. May 15 (Interfax) - An exercise involving the deployment of Bastion coastal missile systems and simulated missile launches at sea targets has taken place on the Baltic Sea coast, the press service of Russia's Baltic Fleet said in a statement on Wednesday.
"An on-duty battalion of Bastion coastal mobile missile systems promptly left its permanent base following a training alarm signal, moved to the deployment area, and took up positions on the coast of the Kaliningrad region," the statement said.
"The missile units searched for simulated targets in the Baltic Sea using electronic warfare systems and performed simulated launches of anti-ship missiles at surface targets," it said.
The exercise involved some 50 troops and some 10 vehicles and pieces of special equipment, it said.
