MINSK. May 15 (Interfax) - Russian Defense Minister Andrei Belousov and Belarusian Defense Minister Viktor Khrenin have discussed the interaction between the two countries' armed forces and their special relations in a telephone call, the press service for the Belarusian Defense Ministry said.
"Belarusian Defense Minister Lieut. Gen. Viktor Khrenin has had talks by telephone with Russian Defense Minister Andrei Belousov," the press service said.
The parties discussed the current state of bilateral relations, it said.
"The defense minister of the Russian Federation highlighted special relations between the armed forces of the two counties," the press service said.
Belausov was appointed Russian defense minister by a presidential decree on May 14. Former Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu was appointed secretary of the Russian Security Council.
