Russian Baltic Fleet ship fires artillery weapons at mock enemy targets at drills off Kaliningrad region's coast

MOSCOW. May 17 (Interfax) - Russia's Urengoi small anti-submarine ship fired artillery weapons at sea and air-borne targets during an exercise off the Kaliningrad region's coast, the Russian Baltic Fleet said in a statement on Friday.

"During the exercise, the crew of the small anti-submarine ship practiced repelling mock enemy air attacks from different altitudes and directions using onboard air defense weapons," the fleet said.

The mock enemy sea targets were also destroyed, it said.

The drills, which involved ships from the Leningrad naval base's harbor guard unit, were routine, the fleet said.
