One civilian killed by drone attack on village outside Belgorod - governor

BELGOROD. May 17 (Interfax) - Ukrainian kamikaze drones have attacked the village of Novaya Naumovka in the Belgorod district, leaving one civilian dead and another one injured, Belgorod region governor Vyacheslav Gladkov said late on Friday.

"The two civilians arrived at the village to dig in the garden. The emergency situation mode had been introduced in the village, and no people should be there," Gladkov wrote on Telegram.

The drone attack left one man with fatal injuries. The man died on the spot, he said.

"The other civilian who as injured left the scene and reached by himself the central regional hospital, where doctors gave him all necessary medical assistance before transferring him to the regional clinical hospital for further treatment," he said.

Residents should not visit villages where the emergency situation mode has been put in place, Gladkov said.
