MOSCOW. May 20 (Interfax) - Russian Security Council Secretary Sergei Shoigu has forwarded a telegram to Iranian Supreme National Security Council Secretary Ali Ahmadian to inform him of Russia's readiness to assist in identifying the causes of the helicopter crash that killed Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi.
"I reaffirm the willingness to provide all the necessary support in establishing the true causes of the crash of the helicopter carrying Raisi," Shoigu said in the telegram, whose text the Russian Security Council circulated on Monday.
Shoigu also offered condolences to his Iranian counterpart on Raisi's death.
"Please accept our deepest condolences on the tragic death of Iranian President Raisi. We mourn this irreparable loss together with the Iranian people. I am convinced that his cause will be continued, and memories of him will be preserved for centuries," the press service quoted Shoigu as saying in his message.
