Putin discusses preparations for state visit to Uzbekistan with Mirziyoyev

MOSCOW. May 21 (Interfax) - Russian President Vladimir Putin and his Uzbek counterpart Shavkat Mirziyoyev have spoken by phone, the Kremlin press service said on Tuesday.

"Preparations for an upcoming state visit by the Russian president to Uzbekistan were discussed. A number of practical aspects regarding the further development of bilateral cooperation, including trade and economic relations, were discussed in that context," the press service said.

"Putin shared his impressions from the recent negotiations with the Chinese leadership in Beijing," it said.

"Both sides reaffirmed the aspiration to further consistently strengthen the alliance and strategic partnership between Russia and Uzbekistan," it said.
