DUSHANBE. May 21 (Interfax) - Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov has met with his Tajik counterpart Sirojiddin Muhriddin in Astana at the request of the Russian side, the Tajik Foreign Ministry said in a statement on Tuesday.
The ministers discussed the bilateral relationship with an emphasis on the agreements reached by their countries' heads of state on May 9, 2024, it said.
The pair "also exchanged views on the temporary employment of citizens and the preparations for the second round of comprehensive inter-departmental talks on this issue due to be held in Dushanbe on May 28, 2024," the statement said.
The ministers are in the Kazakh capital, where they attended a meeting of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization Council of Foreign Ministers.
