Russia's small missile ship destroys naval, aerial targets during exercise

MOSCOW. May 21 (Interfax) - The Odintsovo small missile ship has conducted an exercise involving destruction of waterborne and airborne targets, the Baltic Fleet's press service said in a statement on Tuesday.

"The Odintsovo missile ship crew carried out combat training assignments during a ship tactical exercise in an environment of active countermeasures by mock enemy forces and weapons in the Baltic Fleet's sea training ranges located in the Baltic Sea waters," the statement said.

Using a standard 76.2mm artillery system, the crew successfully destroyed dummy floating mines. At the second stage, the anti-drone teams practiced destruction of mock enemy aerial and surface small-sized targets, it said.

The exercise was carried out at varying ranges using ship artillery weapons and large-caliber machine guns, it said.
