Russia to do everything to continue constructive, trust-based relations with Iran - Putin

MOSCOW. May 21 (Interfax) - Russia will do everything for its relations with Iran to remain constructive and based on trust, Russian President Vladimir Putin said.

Iranian President Ebhrahim Raisi, who was killed in a helicopter crash, was a man of his word and guided by national interests, Putin said at a meeting with Duma Speaker Vyacheslav Volodin, who is flying out to Iran on Wednesday where he will lead a Russian delegation at the farewell ceremony with Raisi.

"It was a pleasure to work with him, meaning that if we agreed on something, you could also be sure those agreements will be fulfilled. For our part, we will do everything for Russian-Iranian relations to continue precisely in this manner. Please, convey these words to the leadership of Iran," Putin said.
