BLAGOVESHCHENSK. May 22 (Interfax) - A resident of the Russian Transbaikal Territory has been sentenced to 12 years in a penitentiary on counts of spying for Ukrainian security services, the Federal Security Service (FSB)'s territorial branch said.
"Acting on the orders from the Ukrainian security service, the woman gathered and transferred information about redeployments of troops and units of the Russian Armed Forces sent to the special military operation zone from the Transbaikal Territory," the FSB said.
FSB officers found proof of her spying for Ukraine.
The Transbaikal Territorial Court found the woman guilty of treason and sentenced her to 12 years in a general penitentiary and a yearlong freedom restriction. The sentence has taken effect.
