MOSCOW. May 22 (Interfax) - State Duma Speaker Vyacheslav Volodin arrived in Tehran on Wednesday, the Duma's press service said.
On the orders of Russian President Vladimir Putin, Volodin will represent Russia at the funeral ceremony for Iranian President Seyyed Ebrahim Raisi, it said.
Raisi died in a helicopter crash in the province of East Azerbaijan on May 19. He had served as Iranian president since August 2021.
A period of national mourning has been declared in Iran.
