TASHKENT. May 28 (Interfax) - The West has no consensus on using NATO weapons for strikes on Russian territory, but the remarks of NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg are irresponsible, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said.
"We see the lack of the Western camp's unity on the issue. But there are hotheads who make completely irresponsible, provocative statements, including the recent statement by Mr. Stoltenberg," Peskov said in an interview with RT.
Some members of the Western camp "are wondering whether further escalation is necessary," he said.
"The situation is getting worse, and the rabid military fervor of the Westerners is beginning to dominate. So, we need to take measures, stand our ground and continue the special military operation," Peskov said.
