Belarus ready to share its experience with Kazakh army - Belarusian DM

MINSK. May 29 (Interfax) - The Belarusian Armed Forces are ready to share their experience with Kazakhstan's army, Belarusian Defense Minister Viktor Khrenin said at talks with his Kazakh counterpart Ruslan Zhaksylykov in Astana on Wednesday.

"Our meeting will undoubtedly offer more opportunities for substantively discussing issues as part of bilateral military cooperation between Kazakhstan and Belarus. I'd like to stress that the Belarusian Armed Forces are ready to share their experience with the Kazakh army on all issues it is interested in," the Belarusian Defense Ministry's press service quoted Khrenin as saying.

"The parties reiterated their mutual interest in strengthening and developing relations between the countries' defense ministries and confirmed the positive dynamics of military cooperation," the press service said.

Khrenin said he was pleased to have this opportunity to visit "the friendly and fraternal country."

Zhaksylykov, for his part, said that Belarus is a strategic partner and a fraternal nation for Kazakhstan.

"Our common history [and] the shared years of the Great Patriotic War should serve as an example of how to be friends, how to work and study together. Our strength should lie in unity, in understanding the tasks facing our Armed Forces. These are territorial integrity, the inviolability of borders and the peaceful life of our citizens," he said.
