Russian aircraft fire air-launched weapons during joint exercise with Belarus - Russian Defense Ministry

MOSCOW. May 31 (Interfax) - Russian fighter jets, bombers and helicopters have fired air-launched weapons during a joint tactical exercise with Belarus, the Russian Defense Ministry said.

"Sukhoi Su-30SM multirole fighter jets, Su-24 frontline bombers, and Mil Mi-24 and Mi-8 army helicopters of the Russian Aerospace Forces have taken part in a joint tactical exercise with troops and hardware of the Belarusian Armed Forces' Air Defense and Air Force," the ministry said.

"The aircraft fired air-launched weapons at designated targets at aviation ranges," it said.

Belarus hosted the joint tactical exercise on May 27-31. It aimed to practice troop control and interaction in the accomplishment of combat training missions, the ministry said.
