Russia, Ukraine conduct 75-for-75 prisoner swap with UAE's mediation - Russian Defense Ministry

MOSCOW. May 31 (Interfax) - Seventy-five Russian servicemen have returned from captivity in Ukraine, the Russian Defense Ministry said.

"Seventy-five captive Russian servicemen, who were in mortal danger, returned from the territory controlled by the Kiev regime as a result of negotiations on May 31. They were exchanged for 75 captive servicemen of the Ukrainian Armed Forces," the ministry said on Friday.

"The United Arab Emirates acted as a humanitarian mediator in the return of the Russian servicemen from captivity," it said.

"Military transport planes of the Russian Aerospace Forces will take the released servicemen to Moscow for treatment and rehabilitation at healthcare institutions of the Russian Defense Ministry. All released servicemen are being provided with medical and psychological assistance," the ministry said.
