MINSK. May 31 (Interfax) - Russian President Vladimir Putin and Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko have discussed security issues and the Ukraine conflict by phone, the First Man's Pool Telegram channel reported on Friday.
"Lukashenko and Putin talked by phone. The presidents focused on security issues and preventing an escalation of the Ukraine conflict," the report said.
The presidents also discussed the upcoming forum of regions of Belarus and Russia. "Another issue addressed in their discussion was the major upcoming date, the 80th anniversary of the liberation of Belarus. The presidents also discussed the issue of Russia's representation at the parade in Minsk on July 3," the report said.
While discussing international issues, Lukashenko and Putin discussed the future summit of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization in Astana and agreed to meet there, the channel reported.
As for economic issues, the Russian president informed his Belarusian colleague about the work of the Russian government to implement the agreements reached in Minsk.
The conversation also addressed the details and issues relating to the Belarusian president's upcoming visits to Mongolia and the Irkutsk region.
